An engineer, an art lover and an artiste, Rama hails from a family of scholars and truly imbibed, scholarly traits of profile writing, poetry, presenting radio programmes for “Telugu Vani” etc. and in promoting The Telugu Bhasha and Sagityam among the Pravasandhrulu living in Australasia. As a President of Telugu Association of Sydney & the trustee of various temples.
Kodur Ramamurthy was instrumental in uniting all Telugu Groups in Australia in organising WORLD TELUGU MAHOTSAVAM in Sydney during April 2012. Many delegates from various parts of the World including Dr. S P Balasubrahmanyam, Mandali Buddha Prasad garu and others participated and made A Huge Success. Over 200 artists of Telugu tradition and culture performed in that 3 day event of Telugu Mahotsavalu.
He also has published the famous epic on Ramayana called “ RAGHUVIRA CHARITAMU”, apart from these Kodur has come out producing Cds by famous South Indian Singers such as Bhagavad-Gita by S.P Balasubramniam, Venugopala Suprabatam by S.P Sailaja and Parthasarathy and also Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavam by Parthsarathy and Usha.; Gayathri Satakamu and Shankara Satakamu. His dedication to the society in terms of arts and culture has been enormous. Rama has served the community and the almighty. A real good Samaritan, he is always a pillar of strength to the poor and migrant settlers who need him the most.
Mr.Kodur as the Founder-Director and the Chairperson of FACTS, and dreams to translate its ideas into reality. He is dedicated to promote all forms of Indian Fine Arts, Culture and heritage throughout Australasia and the World. LALITHA KALA BHARATHI, an Indian Fine Arts School in metropolitan Sydney was commenced on the day of our Independence, 15th August 2004.
Lalitha Kala Bharathi is running coaching classes in Hindustani vocal, Sitar, Tabla, Veena, Carnatic Classical, Bharatanatyam, Violin, Harmonium, Light music, Ghazals and Sanskrit (Vedic) studies not only to Indians also to many Australians. Mr. Kodur is determined to make this Lalitha kala Bharathi into full-pledged University in Australia spreading out culture and traditions to all Australians in near future.
Mr. Kodur to his credit has been honored:
1) at Auckland by New Zealand Telugu Association along with Ms.Helen Clarke, Prime Minister in the year 2001 for the promotion of Indian Fine Arts.
2) at Hyderabad, India in year 2002 by the Music Lovers Society along with Sri S P Balasubramaniam for the promotion of Shrimad Bhagawadgita CD’s.
3) at New Delhi, in year 2003 by NRI Welfare Society of India with HIND RATTAN AWARD by former Prime Minister I K Gujral.
4) at New Delhi in the Year 2012, by Sardar Patel Foundatiom with SARDAR PATEL AWARD from Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr. Ramamurthy Kodur has invested in several projects in India helping new migrants to their needs, has donated land and building for a hospital in a village, Billur in Karnataka bordering Andhra Pradesh. Also, he has renovated/constructed few Hindu temples in India.; aswell he is instrumental for the improvements Mosque for the Muslim brothern at Billur village in Karnataka. He is Trustee of Sri Sthambha Lakshmi Narsimha Swamy Temple atop the Hill at Billur village.His next project is to fully equip medical facilities in the Village, where he has already donated an additional ward to serve the poor community.
Also, Mr. Kodur is the president of Sri Stambha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Charitable Trust,Billur Village,Bagepalli taluk, Chikkaballapur Dist. Where he has re-constructed the dilapidated temple of 1300 years old Chola Dynasty.
Mr. Kodur is the Managing Director for R & R Consultants Pty Ltd and RK Civil & Environmental Eng. Consultants Pty Ltd dealing with Civil contracts in Sydney. He provided many Non-Resident Indians with employment in his firms and helping new migrants from India in Australia.
Mr. Kodur was member of governing council of United Indian Associations,Sydney Australia. Which is a august body representing the Indian community.
